Ray Tigerman

Ray Tigerman is the author of A Knight on Wolf Island, a supernatural survival horror novel and the first book in The Hollow Skin Chronicles. A celebrated contemporary Southwestern artist based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Ray has spent much of his creative life exploring the places where the familiar gives way to something stranger.

Born in Nevada and shaped by the landscapes of the American West, Ray is best known for bold, contemporary work rooted in Southwestern imagery, symbolism, and storytelling. That same instinct for creating worlds eventually found its way onto the page.

In A Knight on Wolf Island, Ray brings that visual imagination to a darker landscape, where survival, identity, transformation, and the uneasy boundary between human and animal begin to collide. The novel is the doorway into The Hollow Skin Chronicles, a larger supernatural mythology that will unfold across three books.

From Canvas To Page

Long before Ray began building Wolf Island on the page, he was telling stories visually.

His paintings and sculptures have always been layered with symbolism, character, place, and a sense that there is more happening beneath the surface than we can immediately see. Writing fiction gave him a different way to explore those same instincts.

The result is a world that begins with A Knight on Wolf Island, but reaches far beyond its shores.

A Knight on Wolf Island

A mid-1800s whaling shipwreck leaves Tayen stranded on the black shores of an island that shouldn't exist. Step one is basic survival. Find food, build shelter, and do whatever it takes to stay alive.

But when darkness hits, the rules change. Something prowls beyond the treeline. The wolves aren't what they seem, and the deeper Tayen ventures into the interior, the harder it becomes to believe his survival was an accident. Wolf Island isn't empty, and whatever is waiting in the dark has been biding its time long before his ship went down.

A Knight on Wolf Island is Ray Tigerman's debut novel and the first book in The Hollow Skin Chronicles. Published by River Grove Books, the supernatural survival horror novel arrives October 20, 2026.
